Very cool thanks for sharing I am very interested in getting involved with the games. I have read the you want to be an athlete thread and have recently gotten back into the gym to start training. I am looking for local organizations in the Phx. area to look into more training and competing in some games.

You should definitely come to the Games next weekend then. No better way to find athletes to train with than going to the competition itself.

I'm sure you'll find someone from the area who would be happy to have a partner for practice.

I *just* got back out to start throwing again this weekend. My third light hammer toss was a 75 foot plus, so that's good, and I was clearing the 14 foot tree branch with 30 pounds on the plumbing fittings (practice weights) so there's hope!

I'll be hitting Bakersfield in April and Monterrey later this year as well. That's probably as far north as I'll get. I'm also thinking about Reno and Vegas this year, but not sure on those.

Keep practicing. I haven't been in the gym at all, just working out with the practice weights. Ultimately you need strength AND technique, but technique is the real key. I still need to get back in the gym so I can take it to the next level.
