Ok, do we know why the Hong Kong Police Pipe Band wears the Isle of Man?

Good question, Matt. I've never been able to find a definitive answer.

That's the new band under the Hong Kong SAR government; you can see the different badge on the pipe banner. The Isle of Man tartan was used by the Royal HK Police Pipe Band (pre-1997 handover); my apologies for not clarifying that in my original post.
