Boots ok with Leatherneck kilt?
I have my first kilt on order! Its the Leatherneck kilt from SWK. I also ordered the Marine Corps buckle with a brown kilt belt and brown leather sporran. I wanted to know if the boots I wear on a daily bases at work would be ok with a kilt. They are a light tan combat boot that laces up it the front and comes about to your lower calf. Here is a link.

And what about socks and shirt? Wool is going to be hot for Southern California.
Thanks

Combat boots with a Marine kilt? I dunno...haha.
Naw, boots are fine! And if you're going to wear boots, just wear regular socks, or scrunch down kilt hose or knee-length socks. As for a shirt...how about a T-Shirt?

The great thing about wool is that it is a wonderful insulator. Keeps you warm in the winter but helps dissipate the heat in the summer.

Sure the boots are fine, particularly since your going with brown leather. Any complimentary colored socks would work. For boots I like scrunched down boot socks bought at sporting goods stores, like Big 5.

I have worn the boots with scrunched down hose with the leatherneck and it looks perfectly fine.

I actually just bought a pair of those boots. Guess which kilt I plan on wearing them with most?

Personally, I think those will go perfectly with the Leatherneck.
They'll pair up well with a t-shirt/polo/or button-up shirt of a similar colour and set the whole outfit right off.

They look fine to me - I don't have a leatherneck kilt but wear boots with my kilts sometimes.

I wear my black work boots with my kilts all the time. I wouldn't wear my workboots to an El Jebel Shrine charity dinner, but for daily wear, they look fine. Those combat boots seem actually very appropriate to a Leatherneck in my mind.
And by the way- we here at X Marks The Scot have no imagination. We require pictures.
