Thanks everybody! Almost right after I made the comment about going with Kiltstore, I read their forum. They seem like a good company, but the whole shipping thing scares me. I spent a few hours here yesterday(made my shift go by quick). Ill keep poking around.

Kiltstore IS a good company, and Nick is a class act, as well as being a Governor of the Scottish Tartans Authority, so you can buy from them with confidence. I have NO complaints about the kilt I bought, I was just ignorant at the time of the Fedex Customs bogeyman. Any kilt purchased from Scotland runs the risk of incurring duties, but shipment by Fedex assures you will be assessed. If you take advantage of Kiltstore's free shipping it comes surface mail (read slow mail) but has a much better chance of arriving w/o all the customs baggage.

    BTW, Welcome from Roswell Georgia!

Welcome DerbyFett. I have a kilt which will fit a tall skinny fellow which you can have for the cost of postage from UK. Not sure of the tartan but is green/blue. Itis a few years old but in very good condition.

I will not be offended if you would prefer to wait and buy a new one !
