DFW's St. Patrick's Kilt Day Parade
That was a tongue twister!
Anywho, the Scottish Country Dancers are trying to get a spot in the Greenville Avenue parade...if we do, we would really like all the DFW Kilted to walk (or ride) along with us...make us look much more 'important'.
If we do not get a spot, we will still be gathering to watch the parade go by...and wouldn't it be fun to have a bunch of Scots gathered together? I am sure the Hooters chicks will be much more willing to toss ya'll some beads if you show them yer kilts!

"The parade is traditionally held the Saturday proceeding St. Patrick's Day at 11:00 am. "
This year, it's Saturday the 15th.

Well, darn it all, we won't be marching in the parade, but there will be some there to watch it go by.
In other news...Monday, March 17th, The Tipperary is having a big St. Patrick's Day hoo-ha. It is $10 at the door after 2pm.
Any XMarkers want to make this a St. Kilt Night?
(and watch out, if you are not wearing green, I get to pinch you )

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you all to be in the parade
I'm not sure about Monday at the Tipp for us.... the location and work night are a bit too much for us to make it this time, most likely
The 15th, Spriggan is playing at Lochrann's and the Plaza Pub (here's a link to their events page, scroll down to the 15th). Christopher and I are hoping to attend one of those, but we haven't decided yet if he'll be kilted, and I also wanted to see what happened with the parade plans before I posted anything.

Yup, it is a bummer, as we have had a great time in the past. Everyone loves to see the kilted!
Lochrann's is a great pub! Good food, lots of dance space and Guinness!
I will be in New Orleans for St. Patrick's Day weekend or I would join ya'll! Hope I don't get in trouble

Awwww Red, I was going to wear my Black UK, and then only Shannon would know where Green Silk Ribbon tied into a bow, around the bonnie Scot, the kilt did lift and show would actually be.

You sure about that, LKC?
You might get some green beads that way

I'm bumping this for Rowdy since I posted another thread for the Saturday before... I didn't want her post to go unnoticed or get confused with mine.
Unfortunately, Christopher and I won't be able to attend this one, hope everyone has fun!

Is anyone planning on going out to the parade anyways? More importantly, is anyone planning on going out after the parade? I'll be in the parade, so after the parade I plan to bar hop like a champion. Also, The Monday thing sounds promising. I'm not sure where I'll be till later in the evening, but if someone is going I'd love to celebrate St. Patrick's day properly!
