It's great that you can be kilted in the office!

Indeed! The best thing about it is that out of the 250 or so people employed here, only a handful have ever asked me directly about the kilt at all and only one or two about my reasons for wearing it. They all end up asking either my supervisor (who tells them to ask me directly) or one of my close coworkers (one of whom says, with a smile, that it's because of "religious reasons" and won't comment further). It's been just over two years now since I've worn trousers to the office and it's as normal as everything else...well, as normal as things can be in a law firm. ;)

    You should post that one!!

Of what saints do you have icons? It's rare to see an image of St. Teresa on display, usually it's St. Thérèse.
No more kilt pics today, but, as requested, here are the pics of the two R. C. Matteson drawings in my office, as well as one of the icons in my icon corner at work.

I'll get a snap of my jacket conversion up later this afternoon.

Really cool to see that you left the bottom white stripe on the kilt. Was a lot of discussion about that as the first batch of kilts emerged. For what its worth, Kathy Lare, a kiltmaker who's credentials are beyond question, left the white line on the hem of my X Marks tartan kilt too.

And how cool is it to be kilted every day?!

    It's awesome!

I thought long and hard about leaving the white stripe. When I was measuring it all out, I pinned a hem, took it out, pinned it up again. I figured that it wasn't THAT noticeable, especially to the uninitiated, and I liked the idea of a selvedge. I had to do a hem on my first kilt (Stuart of Bute) that I made that didn't have a selvedge and that was a PITA. Since I was the one wearing it and it didn't bother me, I kept the white line.
