Lets not talk about the Rockies please...it still hurts too much....but, if you MUST go purple, here's a couple pics of my USA Kilts casual in the Warrior tartan pleated to stripe.
As I've often said, if I had it to do over I'd have gone semi-trad with all my USA Kilts. No way a put down of the casuals, they are what they are and they're great. I just enjoy the semi-trad look more.

And of course you'll need a pair of purple kilt hose to go with it...

Besides the US Navy tartan I just recently ordered from USAK, I just ordered the Grey Granite from them today. Both are casual models, but I will be wearing them at the true waist like a traditional kilt. I think the Grey Granite is an excellent choice for a universal tartan. It allows a lot of flexibility in the color of shirts and socks that you wear with it. I have a dark charcoal polo shirt and charcoal hose that should go great with this tartan. Other colors that would look good with it - black, dark blue, dark green, maroon, etc.

That was pretty much my thinking on it, especially for my first kilt. I ordered it almost three weeks ago, so I should hopefully be getting this week.
If Rocky's not too busy, maybe he'll chime in here and lemme know how the process is going (hint, hint, nudge nudge! )

Congratulations for at least having it in the works. I'm a fan of the Gray Granite tartan too.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Whatever you decide as a tartan, Get it from Rocky. He not only sells a great product, but nobody services his customers like Rocky does.

So far I've been really pleased. He answered all of my "stupid question" emails, and was great to talk to when I finally put my order in. I wanted to do a rush order, and he warned me up front that it may take an extra week or so because he was waiting for a new shipment of Grey Granite PV fabric. I did the rush order anyway, but I know that some people may not have told me that it would take a little longer than two weeks. He was very upfront about everything, and very friendly. Based solely on his reputation here and his customer service, I'll definitely be ordering from him again!

Well, that's good, Cat, and I'll be looking forward to your review.
BTW, "I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert" I do grow flowers in the desert. Take care.

We're in the midst of our St Patty's rush (think "mini Christmas season"), so I'm burried in work and not checking XMARKS as much (only 3 times a day).
The Grey Granite came in yesterday morning. It should be finished and out the door by Tuesday.

Awesome!!!! BTW, I know you're super-busy right now, and I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything, so I hope it didn't come across that way. I know you guys are probably slammed with orders, so I didn't want to bug you about it...but I just had to know!

not at all... and fair is fair. You paid the rush and yours was the "oldest rush order" to be done and we had the material (FINALLY), so it got done today. It's boxed up and going out tomorrow morning via Priority Mail. Kelly made it for you.
Hope you enjoy it!
