Top, you are the Man!
For a Hollywood Marine, you're OK.
I washed all the Danang mud off I could, 'cause I never wanted to see it again. However, now . . .

Semper Fi,
What a cool idea - especially the pistol grips.
All I have is a stone from between The Wall and The Statue.
Jeez fellas, I'm tearin' up....

I never went to Nam (too young), but has anyone else noticed how all military posts/bases seem to have the same red clay. It's like they ship it in special.

Great collections & ideas, guys! I have pebbles from Chartres & Masada. My memories of other places are enough. Sent Iraq sand to my brother. Still have scars from red ant bites in Texas. Pics from Antietam, Cold Harbor, Gaine's Mill, Gettysburg, & Chickamauga, Yorktown (RevWar), Monticello, Williamsburg, etc.
Fort McClellan had red clay mud too.

Hey Terry,
You've been so cool to me since I'm addicted to this XMarks-something that I would like to offer you a little something like... a stone, or anything that I can pick up in very special places here. And a scholar like you is certainly well versed in "special places" in Europe.
For example, I'm in Italy, by Genova in a few weeks and in Brittany in a month. I do move alot so please, feel free, don't hesitate laddy ! Put on the pressure !

I've got a couple of pistols working their way through the S&W custom shop which will be fitted with grips made from 175 year old oak paneling salvaged from the dining room of our home in Ireland. Another bit is off being made into the hilt of a sgean dubh, and yet another piece was made into a box with my arms carved into the lid.
I hope you get your special bit of history.
