I voted Sometimes, because it really depends on what the circumstance is. Total strangers and stuff are a definite NO!

I hate drunk women or just women in general who do this to men (or anyone wearing a kilt.) Do on to others, these women would freak if a man walked up to them in a bar and skirt checked them. It's all about respect for each other no matter what gender or clothing.

It would seem to me that Casey has gotten a lot of interesting feedback. I am sure he appreciates the help.

I think that personally, as an English Literature Major, he would be best off writing about his own his experiences. I recommend that he use all of your responses to help clarify his own feelings about the nature of kilt lifters, the folklore / mythology surrounding kilts, and the sociological aspects involved.

I have heard from Casey and he has completed his rough draft of his paper. It seems to me that this thread has served its purpose so I am closing it before it ceases to become useful.

    Cheers
