Ok guys, now I have learned something about the levels of Black Tie/White Tie, I did not know that there were different levels.
I had to wear ALL of my ribbons once, 7 rows! Looked silly standing next to men with one ribbon. Now it is medals only or nothing. On that note you get 1 time in service stripe for each 3 years but you can stop at 10 stripes if you desire. I so desire.

In the US Military, there are many awards that are "ribbon only", meaning there is no corresponding medal, just the ribbon bar.
These are typically for completing various levels of training and similar achievements.

this weekend I will photograph myself
OK, this weekend I will photograph myself so everyone can see what I will be wearing, how many miniature medals, shoes, kilt, hose, flashes, etc. The only thing I do not have is a suitable Sgian Dubh.
