Oh you know! And I know you know. And you know that I know that you know. Because I know that you know that I know that you know. I exposed your clever plan here before. You're planning to take over the world and make it a kilted one. This would make me less unique I will put a stop to it.

Well don't worry about it happening any time soon, as I have scheduled it for after your first kilt check.......

Does that apply to all 51 Grand Lodge jurisdictions in the United States, or are you speaking only for the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina?

Any Master Mason within the United States can wear the Square and Compass with the letter G in the center! Other Grand jurisdictions in other countries have other slightly different emblems. Most English speaking Grand Lodges and many non-english speaking ones, throughout the world use the Square and Compass with G as the emblem of the Master Mason.
The third degree of Masonry is the Master Mason Degree. Other degrees have other emblems.
Much information is available on the net about Freemasons. Some is factual, some is not. If anyone is seriously interested in more information about the Freemasons, please PM me.
The below emblem is a very nice example of the Master Mason Emblem.

Grant,
I noticed you attended a Burns dinner at a Scottish Rite temple.

Some people go all gaga over the purple and blue tartans - others like the greens and reds. Here lately I have found myself liking the weathered brown shades of some tartans more and more.
Like most clans who have different tartans to choose from, we as Freemason have at least two tartans to choose from.
Me? I like the Grand Lodge of Scotland tartan.....but not enough to order a tank yet.
I'm with you, Jay. I like the Grand Lodge of Scotland tartan a little more than the Freemason's Universal, mainly because I'm more drawn to greens than to blues. There's also a tartan I've seen listed for the Grand Lodge of Canada, but I haven't looked at it yet. Maybe a quick peek at the Scottish Tartan Authority website is in order....
And, like you, I find myself drawn to the weathered browns. My wife, however, still thinks they're all ugly. (She went to a Catholic school for a few years and the uniform kinda turned against tartans in general.)

Brothers,
I have been wearing the cap badge as shown on the Scottish Grand Lodge site for over thirty-five years. It with a Balmoral cap were presented to me upon completing the third degree in my blue lodge. Several of the lodges in Massachusetts have been doing it for many years, mine for over sixty. I wear it with pride. I just need the kilt to go with it that fits my very large personality.
