Robert, I'm just curious where in the French Alps do you live? I lived for a time in the Alpes Maritimes, in the town of Breil on the Roya River.

I live in a wee village called Brizon. It's in Haute-Savoie, a half hour away from the Swiss border and one hour away from the Mont-Blanc tunnel (Chamonix) leading to Italy. I live at 3 600 feet altitude. Not so good for piping because we lack oxigen and nitrogen.
