My first two X-kilts

I just downloaded the manual from Alan H. thank you! I have decided to make my hubby two kilts, one in a khaki canvas and one in flannel camo as a "lounge" kilt. hey, every man needs a comfy kilt for around the house. i plan on making baby x kilts for my 16 week old also......pics on the way!

Good luck with the kilts, and the best advise I can give is to read the manual at least once front to back before you start.
This helps a great deal. If you have any questions don't hesitate to post them here.

Hey, about the flannel...just my two cents. Don't make a box pleat from flannel. It's not heavy/stiff enough. Knife pleat it.

That is unless you have killer heavy-duty expensive flannel. The shirting weight stuff from JoAnne's just won't cut it. IMHO

I made my first one out of flannel and it was just horrible. Stick with either a poly cotton or canvas.

The practice flannel jammie kilt is under construction. It is a heavier cheap camo from WalMart. After washing & handling it is still somewhat stiff (for cheap flannel). The fabric is going together but the women (wife & her best friend) are swearing, sewing and eating chocolate. They've even gone so far as throwing M&Ms at the other's cleavage (well, at least my wife has).

Let me stress that this is for PRACTICE. If the flannel looks looks horrible, it's okay. It's just for sleeping & lounging anyway. They're getting their bugs out of the process.
