    Maybe i'm unique in that many times if wearing a strap instead of a chain with a sporran... I put the buckle centered underneath the sporan, so you dont see a buckle anywhere when you look at it, it's hidden.

    I usually wear center back, but James Mc and Tartan Hiker make great points about ease of use. Trying to feed the buckle through the belt loops and get it adjusted properly in the center of your back can be a challenge.

    I voted at the back, but I think this idea has some merit. As long as you don't have a long length of extra strap sticking out past the buckle, this should work fine.

    Of course, the bottom line is to wear the belt how it works best for you.
