If I had a paten on a pattern I'd get upset if someone used it without paying too.

I can't help but find this a cheerful bit of news. Snobbery coming out again, I think, but they foist off a lot of junk on tourists who don't know any better.
Ironically, one of the google links at the bottom of the page when I read the article was for Heritage of Scotland, which I believe is a Gold Bros. store. You can't find that out when you read the webpage, but I made the mistake of ordering some shoes from them lately, and that's what the bag said.
"To the make of a piper go seven years of his own learning, and seven generations before. At the end of his seven years one born to it will stand at the start of knowledge, and leaning a fond ear to the drone he may have parley with old folks of old affairs." - Neil Munro

Yes, my first online order for accessories was from that site. I did wonder if the woman who sent me an email in connection with it, and was named Singh-Gold, might be an Indian married to a Scotsman. Little did I know!!!

Locharron claims to be the only mill licensed to produce Isle of Skye, but I thought Marton Mills produced it too...
I wonder if other companies could get in trouble for using counterfeit tartan?
