I really like the tartan, and the kilts as well (I own two TFCK kilts). I'm not a fan of the pockets, but as they're removable, it's no big deal. TFCK kilts are well made, and the main difference to a traditional kilt is that they're machine sewn and have no rise.
Also, my hat's off to Howie for his efforts to keep the kilt modern and updated, we're all (even the traditionalists among us) indebted to him for helping to ensure the continued survival of our favourite garment.
