Hey there everybody, I bought my first Kilt from Steve Ashton at Freedom Kilts in Victoria late January and have been wearing it almost daily since. I didn't get a Freedom Kilt kilt but he had a one kicking around from USAKilts that he sold me second hand for a good bargain I think. The next couple of days I got the idea in my head that I was going to try a DIY kilt project and bought Barb Tewksbury's book from him. The door to Steve's shop is open and his customer service is awesome. When I started on a couple of DIY projects with absolutely no sewing experience at all I later went to Steve and he gave me a ton of advice and pointers. Right now I have a semi-traditional kilt being made by a Scottish kilt-maker in the city and I'm getting really antsy.
A hearty welcome for the Blueridge Mountains of North Carolina. It certainly sounds as if the kilt bug has bitten you!
