Thumbs up New USAK Semi-Trad Navy Tartan

I got a call today from working saying that a package had arrived for me (work being where I have everything shipped). I suspected it to be my new Navy tartan Semi-Trad from USAK and when I picked it up after class, sure enough it was. Out of the box this kilt was not what I expected. Now, thats not a bad thing by any means, several features just surprised me. One is that the kilt is unlined. The feel of the material is so nice that I doubt that will make a difference. Another thing is that it doesnt come up as high as I traditionally wear a kilt. Now I realize that this is NOT a tank by any means, and my Cunningham tank is a hard act to follow. Over all this is a fine kilt. It has substantial buckles, good construction, and the material feels very nice. It has excellent swish for such a light material as well. I ordered it a bit shorter this time, as my Cunningham tank is just a bit loner than I like. The combination of the kilt hitting the top of my knee instead of middle and lightweight material make it feel like I am wearing nothing at all when the kilt is on. To me thats good, as this kilt will be very comfortable. I have no pics of me wearing it yet, but I will get some soon.

Rocky, thanks for verifying my measurements. The kilt fits perfectly snugly and sits wear it should without a belt, so I am glad I added the extra inch. It turns out however, even with as quick as Rocky's service was, I gained some girth between ordering and receiving. Hopefully I dont get any bigger any time soon.

Also, this kilt, was the generous gift of an anonymous board member. My thanks goes out to you. I will thoroughly enjoy this kilt and I will try to reflect your kindness in my everyday behavior.

Congratulations on another new kilt. Yes Rocky and Kelly's USA Kilts rock and so does this forum's membership. I am sure the USA semi-trad will give you a lot of pleasure. I have one of their products, a semi-trad Hunting MacLeod, pleated to the stripe, which I wear quite often. Not in the same league as a tank, but you do get good value for money and I have on occasion worn my USA semi-trad to church.

I am going into the Nuclear Engineering program.

Here are some pics of me wearing the kilt. The more I wear it the more I like it. Somehow I seem to be fluctuating waist size from day to day because now I can cinch it up 3 notches and before I could only get 1! Anyway, sorry about looking like a slob in the pics. I just threw on the kilt and accessories quickly so the girlfriend could snap some shots.

The house is a ruddy mess so I again apologize for the background but I wanted to get some pics of this great kilt posted.

Thanks for a wonderfully constructed kilt Rocky & Kelly!

Congrats on the new Kilt, as well as entering the "Great Grey Canoe Club". Don't let the intense training in the Nuke program get to you, there were a lot of guys who "checked out" while I was in ET "A" School. I'm sure you will do fine, you wear a Kilt after all.
