I got the highlander sporran. They're made as you order them, so you may have to wait a couple of weeks. But I thought the quality for the price was pretty hard to beat.

You might take a look at www.rkilts.com. They might not be in your price range but it's worth a look. I have one and have been very happy with the product.

My vote would be for a Buzz Kidder sporran. I have a couple of them...I probably wear the Rob Roy more than any other sporran I've got, and have for about 6 years. They look great, have a very large capacity, and will last forever, no matter what you put them through. They're also a great deal at (I believe) 60 bucks.

You'll be hard pressed to find a question that someone here hasn't had before (it could happen, but it would be rare ). We've all gone through the same things you are, and everyone here is happy to help.
Who knows, you may stumble across something that the folks here don't know about and can point us to something special.

I have different sporrans black and brown, but i like especially the one I have bought from What Price Glory: the replica of the sporran worn by the Highlanders regiments in IIWW.
It is simple (I love simplicity!), well done, cheap and come with its belt in the same leather.
go to see it!

Thorfinn, Freelander, Rkilts all come highly recommended.
What Price Glory has a simple brown military style sporran: $25 plus shipping, and it includes a strap.
The Buzz Kidders also have a traditional look, and are available in black and brown from several sources. Stillwater has them (sometimes), has in stock a brown fur-front day sporran; and plans to have the brown leather "Nightstalker" cargo sporran by the summer. These all lie in the $45-65 range.
For a casual look, you may like the plain millitary WPG, or perhaps the Nightstalker's mix of contemporary/traditional style. I get a lot of mileage out of a photographer's utility vest, a forest-green bum-bag, or the SWK.

I have one of those StillWater brown bunny sporrans. It's pretty good. Sometimes they have in a econemy brown sporran that's exactly the same as the black one except it's brown. Don't know if they will have them again, but I'm happy with both my econemy and bunny SWK sporrans. Good luck Tommie.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
