Sorry to be so late to the thread, but I also had to add in my "ooooohs" and "aaaahhhhs" for this awesome looking kilt!
(And also wanted to thank Grant for tipping me off via this thread to the possibility of slash pockets on an RKILT!!!)

I contacted Crye and they have the lightweight twill available. All that was listed on the site was the Cordura 1000. They also list the Ripstop and heavyweight twill.
According to multicampattern.com the USMC is going to be using MultiCam- heavy for trousers & light for jackets.

Try Rockywoods, that's where I picked up the material initially. They have the nylon/cotton which was used in my kilt and also 500 cordura and 1000 cordura (which I belive my other gear is made from, pouches, bdu's). Also check out this thread on Multicam kilts. Note Fedgunners kilt in post #16 and a pic found by cloves in #31.

As I might have mentioned before I would have preffered the kilt in 500 cordura nylon, who cares how much work it would have been for Canuck, that's why I pay him 5 bucks an hour .

For paintball purposes, the Cordura would be effective protection.
On rethinking it, I may choose the heavyweight twill.
