OK, so it's not exactly about kilts, rather, one of the component parts, but apparently if you're a sheep shearer the US is the land of opportunity.

See this slideshow from the NY Times. It's kind of interesting to see where the raaaaw materials come from.

Back home, when I was a little kid, I used to watch the sheep farmers shear sheep... They also had a demonstration at the fair barn every year... They even had spinning wheels and yarn making demonstrations right next to the fry bread booth...
Oops, I'm reliving the past again.
