    Unusual Prince Charlie

    Here is something I have never seen before: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-PRINCE...QQcmdZViewItem

    It's a Prince Charlie jacket with flaps in the front. The tail is also not like those commonly seen today. The ad says it is vintage, but does not give the period.

    Yes, I would agree that the presence of the Inverness flaps on the front marks it as a regulation doublet, not a PC.

    Looks like a Regulation Doublet to me. Nice the way the front and back are finished, a bit more stylish than a Prince Charlie coatee with Inverness flaps tacked on a la Mr. G's offering.
