    pipe music

What is the name of the tune playing in the background in "All the Tunes of Glory" (isn't that the name of the film?) with Alec Guiness, in the scene where he's kind of breaking down and he begins pacing saying "Ya mean men..."

I have always loved that film and that was one of my favourite scenes but I can't really hear the tune in my head even though I know the hair on the back of my neck used to rise whenever I heard it.

There are several tunes playing in his head during that scene, I'll have to watch it to see if I can identify the tune you mean. He does name them as he is going through the way he sees the procession.

I'd have to watch it again. But in the meantime, here's The Blackbear for your enjoyment.

Yes, there's a somber tune played in his mind that gets interrupted by the tunes he mentions (e.g. - Black Bear, Scotland the Brave, and The Gathering of Lochiel). I'm only hearing bits of it and can't make it out. I'll ask a buddy piper and get back with you.

...he also mentions Brown Haired Maiden and Bonnie Dundee, I think, but I can't hear the tune in my head, at the moment, so I couldn't tell you if either of those are the one (though I'm pretty sure it's not BHM)
