Now, wouldn't THAT be cool? It'd be a blinking lot of work, but I'd wear one in a flash if I could find/make one.

I think I have plans for a wood penny bullet block. Where a penny become the cheek and stops the bearing from comming out. would make a decent size.

I agree with your sentiment, but hopefully if the wearer was in a kilt there would be nothing to debag - other wise he would deserve to be debagged for being 'bagged' quite apart from wearing somebody else's badge.

I'm editing to add that I think the original idea is good if it can be made practical. I think accessorizing (my spell checkers says that spelt wrong but is not suggesting the right spelling) with items that are personal to you or your area or interests is a great idea. How about a piece of fancy rope work with a turk's head for your nautical theme. Or perhaps a piece of nautical ropework as a sporran strap...

The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.

    Well... Good luck.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

For the money, I have always preferred Harkin blocks to Schaefer or Ronstan.
I carry a Harkin Microblock key chain purchased from West Marine that is pretty compact, but lacks the swivel of yours.

How about a monkey fist walking stick to go with it???
