I have drawn up a design which mimics the ribbed typed of Buzz Kidder sporran. I dislike the rigid front and back of the commercial sporrans - which is why I learned to do this myself. It seems to me that the ribbed type of sporran incorporates a bit more expandability than most non-inverness types sporrans. Have you thought about the ribbed sporran design?
