    My family is a MacKay family who's motto is Manu Forti (With a strong hand). I do wear a MacKay kilt and I've got a tie, but that's as far as my allegiance goes. The regimental motto of the London Scottish, of which I am a member, is 'Strike Sure' which is a good motto, but the motto I prefer for myself is the original motto of the Hong Kong volunteers which is loosely translated from Latin as:

    "Though I change my skies, I do not change my loyalties" For a cosmopolitan person I think that says it all. Of course its up to you to decide where your loyalties are.
    The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
    'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
    He keeps his side arms awful,
    And he leaves them all about,
    Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.
