Contemporary vs. Traditional Kilt Perceptions?

I wonder if the enormous success of Utilikilts, getting men out of pants, will end up getting them into more traditional styles of kilt.
Do you think the Scottish kilt will benefit from UK's advertizing?

Salutations! Speaking strictly for myself, I can say that the Scottish kilt HAS benefited from UK's advertising. I started with a UK (original, then Mockers), and progressed to "real kilts" (sic).

I'm in the process of doing the same. I started with UKs, but am quickly switching interest gears towards much more traditional styles. It's nothing against UK. My tastes in styles are just changing.

I did more or less the same with Amerikilts. My tastes haven't changed, really- I still love my AK- it's just that there is such a huge variety! I just don't know where to stop!!
