You're in Cincinnati? There are plenty of us running around in kilts. Art school? I can't imagine that anyone would think it's anything but cool.

I am so sure that you are right to go for a tartan,it must make it easier for people to understand what you are wearing.Take ten minutes to read up a wee tad of the tartan's history, you are bound to be asked about it,if not today, then for sure you will be tomorrow. There is nothing more painful than seeing a kilt wearer floundering with their lack of knowledge of the tartan they are wearing.

Enjoy the addiction and the meteoritic rise in your social life. When outfitted with a day sporran, hose and flashes.... well life is grand.
Know a little about the tartan as it is a great part of the conversation. Where you are in art school, you may want to demonstrate a knowledge of the colour pattern, and the significance of them in the design of the tartan. Sure to be a bonus.

Cajunscot must be slipping . . . (said in jest!) as usually by this time his Moderatorship would have pointed out that the proper name for this tartan is Black Watch!

In all seriousness, Jerry at SWK provides lightning service and a very nice kilt for the price. I think you'll like them. Them? Oh yeah---I doubt if the Black Watch will be your only kilt.

Welcome to the kilted life. And welcome to the addiction. Since wearing my kilt on a normal, non-Highland game day, I've found that I really enjoy it. Thus, a new kilt, sporran and flashes are in the mail as we speak. Oh god, what have we gotten ourselves into?

    Cincinatti...conservative????

Is that not the home of Weideman's Beer and their wild commercials...it was in the 60s...

Perhaps a population transplant happened sometime over the last 40 years...I just can't keep up anymore.

I'm with your other feedback. Art school...you're gonna be the bomb (do they still say that in Cincinnati?)

Don't know what sort of art you do, but take a look at the Utilikilt workman's too. A great kilt for artists. Okay to get "stuff" on it.

    Welcome!
I agree. I claim that the kilt is better than pants...my US Hist. teacher agreed with me since he is a Scotsman.

If Cincinatti is too conservative, you could always spend your kilted nights in Covington.
