Has Ebay no shame?
Okay...doubtless you, like me, have had to wade through a few silly kilt related items when you enter "kilt" on the search line at Ebay.
Today they crossed the line. If there is such a thing as going from the sublime to the ridiculous, this is going from the ridiculous to the preposterous.
In the interest of keeping the forum "family friendly" I will not even post a link to the object or objects in question...I'm sure that those of you who regularly search ebay under "kilt" will spot them.
Any comments on these things would only be funnier if we managed to circumloqute their purpose. In that spirit, I think that they might be more handy as a change purse for one's sporran.

I don't regularly search ebay for the general word "kilt", because of all the crap you get. But I did this time, I think I know what your talking about (OH MY ,a change purse might be good). But I did like the kilted beer can holder!

The 'underwear' (why bother?). And that little Leather strap Mini thing, about 12" drop. I could see me stomping into the Pub in that; I'd be very "popular", probably both gals & guys - or at least those that didn't die laughing...

I've seen the "underwear" advertised in both leather and Wallace or Blackwatch. Odd, not my taste and not a kilt... but whatever floats your boat I guess.

I've seen those things. I knew exactly what you were talking about right off. I have no clue how those things work, but they sure are absurd. I kinda wish they'd vanish.

To answer your question: No, no shame.
To purchase one of those things would not nloy be kind of dumb (at least for an old beat-up guy like me, it would be very uncomfortable, I think.

Ebay hasn't had any shame in a long time. Gee, remember when actual people sold on Ebay, and you could get some good deals now and again on oddball items? Now, it's just a place for bulk dealers to sell crappy products, by and large.

Remember when "businesses" actually sold good stuff that they stood behind, not just the cheapest crap that people will be willing to buy. Or when customers lived by the saying "you get what you pay for"?
To be fair I am sure there are one or two good companies on eBay, but I still miss the original intent of the site.

I'm pretty young, but I remember those days... Now it's more like "you pay for what you can get" instead of "you get what you pay for."
More and more all I can find is cheap, mass produced, disposable crap for sale.
Quality products made and sold by quality people are getting harder and harder to find, and harder and harder to afford...
I've seen too many small independent, family-owned businesses go under, driven out by massive mulit-national corporations... It's depressing.

Greed! That's all it is. The Almighty Dollar. It's the american way. Plus, if no one bought them, no one would sell them.
