I Should Have Had Them With Me
The other evening we went to a play at our local college. I wore my Buccleuch tartan USA Kilt. We had some extra time and were walking through the mall. It was filled with middle and high school kids due to a jazz festival that was in town. I think they were allowed some shopping time.
As we walked by a whole group of middle school girls, just sitting on benches in the middle of the mall, they all pointed and giggled. When ever someone laughs at me I can't help but smile or laugh right back. My wife and I just kept walking by and she didn't even notice they did that, I had to tell her.
Then during the play's intermission, I went to the bathroom. As I was going in, some guy coming out said, "The women's bathroom is over there." I just laughed and I didn't even see who it was. Then while I was at the urnial, the guy next to me started talking about the kilt. (Yes, someone actually talked in a men's bathroom, although I am not afraid to do that my self. haha)
He kept talking, but I was done first and left before him. So I waited outside the bathroom and talked to him some more when he came out. He used to wear a kilt in the band at Alma college. (See the last paragraph.) He kept asking about it, what the sporran was called, etc. Then he sort of blushingly said, "I should get one as I don't like to wear lots of clothes." I replied, "They are very comfortable and you can wear or NOT wear what you want underneath." He grinned and said, "I should get me one!"
That is why I said in the title that I should have had them with me. I told him our website but he probably won't remember. But with a card, it will remind them and they might check us out. So, I am going to find that link for the cards that someone made, and print some cards so I have them.
DALE.
You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

That's great.
Yeah we started doing the business card thing with the Sonoran Scotsmen a while back. It makes it handy for whenever someone starts asking about the kilt and want to learn more. We still haven't had them done "professionally", but the ones that we made definitely look good enough.
The saying is a play on words. Since our logo is a cactus, etc. I don't think this will offend anyone but if it does, I will delete it.

It's good to meet people who are interested in the kilt, the ones who laugh aren't really worth our time. Nice idea about the cards, I should have some made up too.

X-Cards would be a good thing to have.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I agree, as long as there are no legal issues. That way folks can get some good information from the rabble instead of just going to a vendor and looking at products.

Yeah, there have been several times when I have wanted to have cards for xmarks and a few of the vendors. At some point I may do something about that.

Hmm.. excellent idea. I wonder how hard it would be to talk the admins into designing something for us.
