    PC waistcoat help

So I bought at PC off of evil bay. It says its vintage and has a very poor description (the seller is obviously not familiar with kilts and such), but it looks rather good for the price I paid for it. That being said, the tails arent quite the same shape as the PC's that I am used to.

Anyway, I want to get a waistcoat to go with it. I have been scouring google and I also tried to find some posts here but I am having trouble narrowing a source down. I know someone posted a link to one that was at or around $50 bucks that was made to be a PC waistcoat, rather than having to purchase a cheap vest and convert it myself. Anybody know the site I am thinking of?

Here is the auction for the waist coat. Scroll down to check out the jacket. Too bad the model doesnt come with it Comments, criticisms, concerns are all welcome. Like I said, I didnt drop that much cash on it so if I got hosed, oh well.

Still have this one but I'm afraid it may be a little big, judging by the size of the jacket you just picked up

I will point out, for whatever it's worth, that not having a waistcoat for the PC isn't too big a deal - it's entirely proper to just wear it with a dress belt. Or, alternatively, you wear the waistcoat and not the belt. It's just a matter of whatever look you prefer.

If worst comes to worst, one of the low tuxedo vests is the same thing. You'd just need to put silver buttons on it.

If you do go for a low-cut tuxedo waistcoat, be sure and take your PC with you when shopping. The bottom of the waistcoat should not hang below the bottom of the PC.

Oh, I love those ivory ones on the site Cacunn gave! Do you think that they would pass muster by kilt purists? I have only a barathea, which is all as dressy as I plan to get.

It appears to me that you have a Tails coat conversion, nothing wrong with that. But it appears to me that the the scalloped patches on the tails are backwards.

If you look at the Folkware pattern in the center of this picture you can see the scalloped piece has the point pointing outward.

As I understand the buttons go out near the points, not the center of the piece, see the pattern piece on the lower right of the picture.

See if you can remove this piece and turn it around.
Well that was what I thought when I first looked at it. . . . but the back looks tailored very well for a conversion. The whole thing looks spot on to me except for the tails. I don't know, I am really gunning for an Argyll someday but as often as I wear it it will be just fine.

I just really really like the look of a vest. That is why I want one!

I would say go ahead and take your jacket to a shop and find a waistcoat to go with it.
I got one that works just perfectly and only cost me a fiver. The buttons cost 3 quid.
