    Congratulations.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Congratulations. Second dan is very appropriate for a kilted samurai.

Think of each Dan as a degree of black belt.

Way to go on 2nd Dan

Congrats, a bigger achievement than most people would imagine.

Unless you have been through belt testing at a reputable MA school even the advanced Kyu belt testing is enough to drop most healthy and in shape people to the ground.
I take Japanese Shodokan style Wado Ryu but our Dojo also trains in many styles to be well rounded. I don't take anything away from any style if it's taught right. I've seen 1st Dan tests run 6-7 hours and there certainly isn't much of a break at all.

2nd Dan (Nidan in Japanese), I don't know what it is in Korean is no small achievement.
