L & M's distributor in the States?
I've been toying with the build a sporran at L & M. After getting away from things like a badger front and seal tassled sporran banged up a tempting offer. I get to the order page and am told "Please enter your information so a reseller can contact you to complete this order."
For those not in the know, L&M Highland Outfitters do not sell to the public. I'd prefer to deal with someone I know than some other Scottish shop. I know Matt sells L & M: would he be my reseller? Can I request Matt as my reseller?
I am doing this publicly so others can benefit from this knowledg.

Yes... printout the page from the Build a Sporran and call Matt (or any other L & M Reseller) with the details of the exact sporran you want. Matt can call them and place the order.

Whoops, I should have asked you, Rocky, before posting this. Are you an L&M reseller? After all, you are closer.
Sort of annoying that I am at a computer without printer when I did this, but I can recreate my sporran.

We also have the "Build-a-Sporran" tool installed on our web site, so you if you want to purchase from us you can just do it all right over our site:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/...ns_custom.html
When you submit your order we'll get an email letting us know the details of your order. We'll then send you a PayPal invoice for the total amount (or you can phone in your credit card details, etc.).
Aye,
Matt

Aye,

That's quite nice to know as I'd rather do business with someone I know rather than a strange company

I guess Matt already had my credit card info.
When the order went through, I wasn't sent any confirmation of what exactly I ordered (Dress Sporran in faux silver fox with grey rabbits' feet, Two Rocs cantle with thistle emblem, and black cantle liner). I was divided between the real and faux silver fox, but the order went through as faux. Which works out as less expensive.
It seems that Rocky is also an L & M Dealer. Fortunately, the dilemma of who to buy from was solved without too much grief by my being impetuous.

No, we'd never bill a customer's credit card for anything without express prior authorization, and in fact only keep record of that kind of information while there is an outstanding order in progress. All that info gets shredded after the fact.
The reason you might not have received an immediate confirmation of a BAS (Build-a-sporran) order is simply because it's not set up as an automated system. An actual STM employee has to look at our email notification of your order, and manually generate an e-invoice to email to you. And, unfortunately, with our small number of employees, we can't have someone sitting on the email all day! :-) So depending on when you sent the order through, you might not get a confirmation until the next day.
If you don't get a confirmation of some sort today, it may be an indication of other problems, so please let me know if that is the case. In all likelihood I'll see your order request sitting in our inbox when I get into the museum in a couple of hours and will send you the confirmation myself. (I am assuming that you placed your BAS order direct over our web site; if you did it over the L&M web site and requested us as your retailer, there is the additional step of L&M contacting us with the order information, which still shouldn't delay things signifigantly).
Aye,
Matt

Well, you do have my authorisation.
I placed the order over the L & M site and will call you today.

Follow Up
It seems that L & M will send your reseller an e-mail with a bunch of codes. Here are mine:
Order#: 1209398738
Order Code: 219,224,361,317,129,327,408
Fun, if you decide you want to change an item since it is gibberish to everybody except L&M. I changed my mind from faux to real silver fox and knew the price difference. Fortunately, my retailer was able to deal with that issue with no hassles.
Both Matt and Rocky are great choices if you want an L & M Sporran, which was sort of a dilemma for me. I deal with both Matt and Rocky and am very happy with the service I receive.
