That's quite a bargain for a beautiful tartan.

As I work on this new kilt around my work schedule.. I'm getting a little accomplished at a time. Which is good, if I raced through it I would probably really mess it up. As of now I'm almost finished sewing the pleats.. about 70% done. I'll finish the rest of the pleats tomorrow being as I am off work tomorrow.

    Here's my progress today:

    45% sewn pleats...

    70% sewn pleats (angle 1)

    70% sewn pleats (angle 2)

This is the 2nd kilt I've made that is moving in a successful fashion. The 1st 3 I tried were bombs. As I do this process with very little instruction, I make work improvements as I go on. Notice I've added basting to the pleats and such.

    More to come!!

Very nice. I have yet to try a tartan, but I think I'll give that a try when I finish my second camo kilt.

1st I'd like to give thanks to the very nice comments. It means so much because I know so many of you do a lot DIY kilts, sporrans, bonnets, etc...

The construction is moving right along and I finished sewing the outer pleats and the aprons today.

All that's left is sewing the inside if the pleats and securing them, adding the fringe, adding the waist band, and adding fastening (I use buttons).

    Here's the progress:
