Your right Rocky Batleys and others do weave P/V Cloth, and some of it is in Tartan. I guess I should have specified "P/V Tartan Kilt fabric". I do not even consider Batleys, and the others, to be Kilt fabrics as much as I do Tie fabric, or upholstery fabric, or some such other use.
And I agree that the overseas mills just don't seem to understand the qualities that we look for in Kilt fabric. How they can take Polyester and Rayon fibers that are liquid and perfectly straight and make them fuzzy I'll never understand.
Fuzzy Wool I can understand but we don't use that for kilts either. Good Kilt fabrics need to have the fibers straight and parallel when spun into yarn. (Worsting) But it seems they insist upon making the fabrics as fuzzy and fluffy as they can to make it appear thicker. They just feel like polar fleece to me.
