I smiled and gave them a thumbs up in return. (my girlfriend just rolled her eyes). While waiting in line to get in I had a bunch of teenage girls who wanted a picture with me, so I obliged. (much to the annoyance of my girlfriend). I didnt like the opening bands much so I stood out in the atrium to preserve my hearing and save my lungs from as much second hand smoke as possible. A guy walked by in a Utilikilt and I introduced myself and we bantered for a bit. After a good bit of conversation, Disturbed came on and I rather enjoyed their performance.
I am not used to getting nearly as much attention in my kilt as I did that day, but I ate it up. I dont wear my kilt looking for compliments but when they come my way (especially from girls my age) it does put some extra swagger in my stride. Here is a pic of me heading out the door to the concert.
Sorry if the pic is sideways. I have tried everything i can think of to get it to flip. It is rightside up on my computer and everytime I upload it it is oriented correctly on in my album. It comes out flipped when I preview though. I give up after 20 minutes of frustration.
Thats my dickies under and overshirt, USAK Navy kilt, and Berserk Sporran MK II in action.

Berserk, that was a good look. I'm always in search of the perfect boot to go with my kilt for casual, outdoor events. So, what brand/style boot is that, if you don't mind the question?

Haha... great story! You gotta love in when stuff like that happens.
It kind of reminds me of something that happend years ago. I was driving to a friend's house at about 10:30 11:00 at night, and all of the sudden, this huge SUV behind me starts honking like mad. When I was younger, I had put a couple of bumper stickers on my car ("honk if you're Scottish" and "anything can happen in the kilt" ... hey, I was 19). I made the connection and figured that had to be it. Next thing I know, the SUV is speeding up to get next to me. Then, down comes the windows, and as it turns out, the SUV is crammed full of girls. Go figure. They stopped next to me at the next red light and started asking me if I really wore the kilt. I responded by turning on the light in my car and lifting the top apron just enough for them to see some tartan (just some tartan, mind you). About that time, the light changed, but they continued to drive next to me until we got caught by the next light. At that point, they did the usual "we love men in kilts" stuff that we've all heard before, and also invited me to the party that they were en route to. I had somewhere I needed to be, and so had to decline. It was still an amusing little episode, though.

Yes I am. I love Dark Passion Play. I think it's one of the most cohesive album they've done- ever! I buy a CD, and then I immediately burn a copy and put the original away. I have as of this point worn out not one, but two, copies of both the instrumental and the standard version.
I'm just trying to decide which kilt to wear... That's the real tricky thing. Type O Negative, not so much- black Amerikilt with a green shirt, green sox and black shoes. But Nightwish is a little tougher.

Man, just go to Wal Mart. I have a pair similar to those, and that's where I got mine.
I have these, and a pair of ankle high ones. Both purchased at Wal Mart.

I am at work not and I am not sure as to brand and I am trying to recall where I bought them. It has been over 4 years since I purchased them. I think I picked them up at a payless in the mall or something like that on sale. If my memory serves me they are by a company called State Street. They are most defnetly not high end, but they are great for just kicking around in. They have been the boot I use to work in the garge with for years.

You might remind the GF that the others only get to look at the menu, she is the one that has the prize. She should appreciate the lasses looking at you, envious of her, rather than your eyes on other lasses instead of her.
Great seeing you in the Navy kilt. Looks great on you.
