X Marks can make the decision
I have a favourite hat for out walking in the hills/countryside/pubbing etc when the sun is blazing down. I really cant make my mind up if this hat goes well with kilts/cilts. I'm 50/50 .. so here's a pic and I will leave it to the x marks community to decide whether it goes or stays .... by the way its the only hat I got .. I am not a big hat wearer.

I'm not sure what kind of hat and which kind of kilt you are talking about, but I'm kind of figuring out in my own hat/kilt exploration that a hat goes with the over all theme of your outfit. In other words, a ball cap might not go so well with a suit like kilt outfit and so on.
* Ok, I see from the other posts that it is a brimmed hat. For all I knew, it could have been a cone hat or one of those hats with fruit on it from South America.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I like it. And besides, any hat with a brim is better than no hat when the sun is blazing down.

Looks fine to me. Its not my style, but I have seen much worse than that hat worn with a kilt.

Ditto, I like the hat with that outfit as well. Of course, I am biased as I wear a felt fedora when I am going to be outside for any length of time. I have long since lost my natural cover from the sun!

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Why not? You wear it so well!
wear both!

I think it looks good, to me the other accessories chosen will tie the entire outfit together. Another thought is that as this is for walking, hiking, outdoor pursuits I think that function is far more important than form anyway, but it looks good as well which is just a bonus.

Looks good to me, especially since it looks like a hat that I wear!

It kinda makes you look like if Sean Connery took Indiana Jones' hat...
