Ted, I noticed the same thing..."Moosedog has not made any friends yet." It sounds almost like a report card from kindergarten...although I guess my teachers back then didn't call me Moosedog...

Anyway, I do love the new features--thanks! Now I have to get on the ball and learn how to use 'em.

Yes, but after you make your new friends, you don't have to sit in the pouting corner anymore.

    I have friends.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Remember, you can always invite others to be your friends. No reason to sit back and wait for others to invite you.

Frankly, I can't be bothered with the social networking side of the profiles. I realize there will be those that are thrilled to have all these new functions and that's a good thing, but there are some issues with the vBulletin core that have gone overlooked for some time and these issues are what I would like to see addressed.

I've been running vBulletin 3.7.0 on one of my sites since it was a Beta release and it was just this last weekend I took the time to learn how the albums work. <shrug> I think forums are here to share information, not to supplant the social networking sites like MySpace, etc.

How many times have we seen people complain about vB's lousy search function? It works terribly and it is also a resource glutton. Yet we're left to suffer with it, whilst rudimentary social networking add-ons are tossed into the core, in an effort to keep up with Brand IPB forum software.

    Oh well...

I know exactly how you feel. I run Linux as my sole OS and, therefore. run a lot of F/OS software and most of it is the same way.. throw in new features while neglecting needed changes. Fortunately most F/OS software developers listen to their users and take care of some of the issues.

I wonder how effect it would be for some of us to send a polite "can you fix it?" email to the vB devs.
