Last time I was there the road that used to go around the Loch had been closed at the end so you had to turn around and drive all the way back, is it still like that?

I have not been that way for a wee while,I will need to soon, but when all said and done, that bit of road is quite the worst in the whole universe. I have seen that road decline into is present delapidated state over many decades.I find it almost as quick to go down the A9 these days.Well it would be if we could steel ourselves to pass the House of Bruar without calling in.

These are nice shots sir. I am guessing you took them around March/early April due to the light and snow on the hills? I have probably 30 years of photos, but only started having the means to share recently. So it's only new stuff I can show.

    Jock,
Are you referring to the section of A-82 that parallels Loch Lomond?

It's not as intimidating a drive to me as it once was, nonetheless, it ain't for the 1st time left-side-of-the-road driver or faint of heart.

Particularly when a coach suddenly pops out from 'round a curve.

    Slainte yall,
    steve

Don't worry pard - I passed the British Highway Code exam a long time ago.

I've driven thousands of miles in the UK. After driving those single-track roads on Harris and in the NW Highlands, not much rattles my cage when behind the wheel there or here.

Actually, after a trip to your homeland, it takes a coupla weeks to become re-acclimated to driving on the correct side here in the US.

I drove that section of A-82 from Killin to Luss in September 2006 and it was open all the way. In fact, I don't recall it being in bad shape at all.

    Slainte,
    steve
