About Barleyjuice (quoted from the event promo):
Ireland has been called the land of happy war songs and sad love songs, and no one sings and celebrates this irony better than Barleyjuice. These six Irish-flavoured Yanks are currently one of the most beloved pan-celtic bands in the USA. Two of the members - Kyf Brewer (yes, that's really his name) and Keith "Swanny" Swanson played bagpipes in the Loch Rannoch Pipe Band, and performed in Edinburgh for Prince Charles. Kyf was also in a band called The Ravyns who recorded the song "Raised on the Radio" from the film "Fast Times At Ridgemont High".
Experienced balladeers and multi-talented instrumentalists, Barleyjuice have had their songs featured in TV and film, including the Stallone film "Driven", as well as a 2004 episode of Fox's "King of the Hill". Their ode to the kilt, "What's Up Yours?" was voted Song of the Year 2005 by listeners of celticradio.net, and "Whiskey To The Sea" can be found on the new iTunes Essentials' Celtic collection.
In addition to updated traditional songs, their third & latest album, Six Yanks, features tunes with catchy titles such as "Love with a Priest" and "Tartan is the Colour of My True Love's Hair" - standard Barleyjuice themes of enjoying life and love to the extreme while having a sense of humor (and a few pints) along the way. Every day is St. Patrick's Day when Barleyjuice takes the stage.
As many X-Markers will know, this is X-Marks' own Jimmy Carbomb's band! They are a great pan-Celtic band, well worth the trip to Westminster from anywhere in the region.
