If time is an issue, go SWK. You'll have time to wear it out before May 30.

Two entirely different creatures. It is a testament to the definition of "kilt" that it can---and legitimately!---be stretched to include both the SWK and the Freedom Kilts.
The SWK is an instant gratification kilt. Not only is it off the shelf, but if its listed on their website its in stock, and the delivery is legendary. (We regularly speculate that Jerry warps space and time with his deliveries. He's that fast.) The SWKs are inexpensive acrylic (or inexpensive wool) with shortcuts taken, and are widely popular even among those with a taste for tanks.
The Freedom Kilts are artisanal kilts, machine SEWN to be sure but hand MADE to fit YOU. The time and individualized attention that Steve and his staff provide, whether in the poly-cotton, or the tartan worsted wool kilts that they make, simply represent a different class of kit. Plus, of course, pockets.
In my opinion, it's tough to go wrong with either one.

If you budget is tight or your need a kilt right away I'd go with Jerry at Stillwater.
If you want custom made I'd go with my kilts.
BTW, if you really want to treat yourself have a look at the Ben Dubh (Black Mount) Tartan offered in 13 oz. Wool from Marton Mills. A true black on black Tartan. I have been making my Tartan Model in these as fast as I can because it is a truly wonderful look. Straps & Buckles, pockets and custom made.
However, the cost will be about equal to two Stillwaters' and I have a 5 week lead time right now.

Would you happen to have a link for the Ben Dubh, perchance? I may not have the funds (at the moment) but one never knows when a fortuitous windfall may arrive!

Here is the address to the Ben Dubh Tartan.

They actually have three Black on Black Tartans but I think this is the best looking one.
The problem in looking at these Tartans on your 'puter is that the little swatch picture is just a black square. This truly is a stunning piece of fabric.
If you would like, PM me with an address and I'll send you a swatch in the mail.

Cool Thanks! I just ordered a Black Kilt from KL KILTS off Ebay for 40 bucks. It may not be great ( wait an see ) but it'll due for the retirement. SWK won't have meh size till the summer. So i think the FreedomKilt will be my first Custom Purchase.
