Rain!!! Glorious Rain!!!
WOO-HOO!!! IT'S RAINING!!!!!!!
That may not seem like anything to get excited about for most of you, but we haven't gotten any rain here in Phoenix since Feb. 22nd! That's quite a dry spell even here in the Sonoran Desert. And since May & June are historically the driest months here, it was looking like we wouldn't see any rain until our monsoon season starts in July.
Sorry, no pictures of me in my kilt splashing in the puddles (before they dry up). Just couldn't contain my excitement...
.
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!

My fiance and I left Los Angeles on April 27th to move back to Florida. One of the things we really disliked about the LA area was the lack of rain.
It hasn't rained since we got here.
Glad to hear yours was fun!

"Impossible, it doesn't rain in May"....I was saying while I rode my bike home in thirty mile an hour winds and intermittent sprinkles.

Like a lot of us in the south, Florida has not been getting as much H2O these days. I grew up in Florida starting around 1967. I remember before I left in 1994, noticing over the years a departure from the tropical days I experienced as a youth.
I will be spending a week there starting on the 22nd and getting married on the beach, watch it rain. :smirk:

I read that parts of Florida are having wild fires because of the drought.

We have had an almost unheard of dry period of nearly 3 weeks! I just don't know how we are going to get our 200 plus inches of rain in, if it goes on like this.

If you want more rain you are certainly welcome to it, we get too much of it here. Some of our water gets exported by tanker ship to dependencies such as Gibraltar to supplement their natural supply.
Jock, you would have missed the heavy downpours, thunder and lightning, which we had here last weekend, but I see from the weather forecast it is your end of Scotland's turn to get some rain tonight or tomorrow while we should be dry here in the south.
