Well, if you ever get up to Chicago, I'll be happy to take you to my dojang. The head of our school is a 70 year old Korean gentleman that learned all he knows from his father (a Buddhist monk in the mountains in what became South Korea). It's a very good school.
I'm another of your fellow martial artists, and know exactly the feeling you mean. The freedom of movement in a kilt still reminds me of the freedom afforded by the hakama that I've worn for nearly two decades. When I started wearing the kilt, about six years ago, that was one of the first things I noticed.
