I bet I could get you at least three or more feet in the stones Alan, in fact I am working on an improved Stone tutorial to post here. Hopefully I'll have it up later this week, but I am going out of town on business so I have no idea how that will go.

The double spin is something I have been practicing for the last two months or so, but I really just did it the first time this weekend. I tried it a couple throws in Bakersfield but didn't have the technique down at all.
Now I have the footwork, I just need to stay low and get faster! Slow first spin, then explode to the trig like you said. It's just doing that while getting everything ELSE right that is the pain.

Alan, your hammers looked great, I'm not at all surprised you are right behind me. Heck, if it weren't for some great throws this weekend you'd have been ahead of me! You've actually got the technique down even better than I do, so once you speed it up a bit you'll see some tremendous throws.

My goals for the year.... Hmm... maybe we need a new thread...

Yes, yes! I need all the help I can get! I'm gonna get some video of me with stones and slap them up here (and as NASGA, I finally joined) and solicit comments.

You know what made a huge difference in my double spins was realizing that last year I was eating up too much of the trig in my first spin. The video from Livermore actually wasn't all that great, I still ate up too much in the first spin, but it's miles ahead of last year. The idea is to set up in the corner like we all do, and then spin and put your right foot pretty much exactly where your left foot was. That leaves you with 6+ feet of trig to power through for the second spin....

...but you know all that. What turned the corner for me in the double spin was doing foot drills with no weight in the weight room. I just drilled doing quick spins/foot reversals until i was balanced. Then I moved on to linking one spin with the second one, with a pause in the middle to see if I was balanced. Of course that pause in the middle is a really bad habit, so now my foot drills will be to link them without the pause.

I'm just blown away by your braemar toss. That is just sweet. Jeez....
