Super pics, Daz, quite a few of the steam railways have an annual World War II event, there is always a great atmosphere at these events. I've not been to the East Lancs one but one of the best I have been to is the event at the Great Central Railway (Leicester to Loughborough) where south of Swithland reservoir is made to represent occupied France, and there are also local events nearer to home at the Tanfield Railway and the Weardale Railway.

More great pictures Daz - you seem to spend more time south of the Border than in Inverness!

I have family and business connections in the North of England, and I studied music theory there for a period, I like getting involved in these kinds of things as well as promotional work, it gives a positive image of the pipes, the Kilt and as it unusual to see a piper around, you always get very positive attention from people, even gangs of "rough" looking youngsters, are mesmerised by the Bagpipe and the Kilt,
One "Goth" type kid was desperate for me to point him in the direction of the nearest kilt maker after comments made by some of the girls he was hanging around with.
the only drawback (if you can call it that) is when you stop playing or try and walk anywhere you get swamped for requests for pics/ or to pose with someone for pics or listen to peoples experiences of visiting Scotland.

Thanks for all the pictures, Daz. You look great, and I like the pics of the military vehicles.

I wouldn't call that a drawback.
Great photo collection, thanks.
