Black Watch Kilt Advice
Heya everybody- I知 new to this site. I値l be wearing my black watch kilt to a business casual party this Friday, and I wanted a bit of advice. I have black docs (boots) and a black belt, but I知 not certain what would be the best colour of hose to wear, or what colour dress shirt I should wear. I was thinking just going with black hose and a black long sleeve dress shirt without a tie. I was thinking that might look quite smart. But then I was thinking maybe dark blue or dark green hose with a matching solid colour dress shirt may look better. I want to come off as casual and cool. Any suggestions? Cheers.

I would suggest that you go with black shoes or lofers, rather than the boots. Doc's don't suggest business casual, but pub/bar/highland games casual. Just on mans opinion however.

All black is always a cool look. As far as the Docs go, it depends on how you define "business casual". The question I would ask myself is "would I wear them with pants?". In any event, black hose would tend to deemphasize black Docs.
Oh and welcome to XMTS!

Cheers loads everybody. That foto RedBeard was loads of help. It was just what I was looking for. And passing on the Docs looks to be the right call. I really do appreciate everyone's help, and thanx for the warm welcome!

I don't particularly care for the mourning dress/Darth Vader look, and I don't understand why with all the colors available people would want to dress like Johnny Cash in a kilt.

I agree, there are more colorful shirts out there that would go great with the black watch. Orange, yellow, green, blue, even red could go well with that. I mean not everyone will agree with me, but depending on how you wear it, you could pull it off and look good.
