I was searching around to find kilt designs, and came upon this site. Then this thread. F'in SWEET!
I have the next 2 days off, and some extra cash to blow on fabric, so the missus can't gripe.
I'll post pics once it's done.
Thanks for the pdf dl Alan!

Why didn't *I* think of that?
Same here, on both counts! I just scored a pile of polycotton in the old desert camo pattern. Can't wait to get started on that!

Bumping, and yet another vote for a sticky... I just finished making up a length of denim into a "trad" style kilt, sure wish I had seen/used these instructions instead.
Oh well, next time in camo!

X- Kilt calculator
Based on X-Kilt manuals, I've made simple Excel calculator, which helps with pleat and fabric calculations and is making some suggestions. I don't have possibility to post it somewhere on the Net, yet. If someone has this possibility and think it could be of some use, I can send it to him for further actions.

I've now asked the Moderators three times, over the years, to "sticky" this thread, and all three times I've heard nothing back, except from the Moderator to whom I made the original proposal.. I think the answer is clear. There will be no sticky for the X-Kilt manual thread.
I'm not angry, it's up to the Moderators (and Sauron) if they want to do it or not, and the answer is that they don't want to do it. That's fine, though of course I'm disappointed. But there's no point in bringing the topic up again, so lets use the thread for what's it's for.....X-kilt construction discussion.
Mipi, I'd love to see your Excel spreadsheet.
