Really different, but interesting. And- you don´t have to choose between chain strap and leather strap. Wouldn´t make any difference, eh? ;-) (concerning damage on the apron)

I suspect the target audience would be wearing black rubber or leather kilts and possibly gimp masks too :-)

Different for sure, but really attractive, I think. I don't see the chain mail gusset messing up a kilt like a chain strap would because the strap carries the sporran's weight. Just don't plan to carry really small items loosely. This would go REALLY well with a black leather kilt.
