Cef, Eilean Donan Castle is located on Loch Duich, near Dornie, in the Western Highlands. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the MacRaes are the hereditary Constables of this castle, although it was once home to the Mackenzies of Kintail. Someone may come along to correct me on this one.

That is correct although legend has it that the castle was originally built by Clan Matheson at Alexander II's direction to protect the coast from from vikings. In fact the Matheson's were the constables for awhile, successfully defending the castle from attacks. I don't know when it transferred over to the McKenzies or when the McRaes became the constable.

Eilean Donan Castle was used in the film "highlander" you can see it in the background when they are on horseback and Plockton was used in the "wicker man"

Eilean Donan Castle is now a popular wedding venue now
