Sweltering heat today, kilting @ work
Today it is going to be 100+ w/ humidity. Last year my company went from a relaxed dress code to a more "almost business casual" dress code that says you can't wear shorts except on Fridays during summer -- apparently they think we live in a magical land where it's only hot on Fridays.
Needless to say, I'm kilting it today.
I'll let you know how many guys I notice envying me.

Good luck with it, I've been kilted daily for over a year now, everyone at work has accepted it. I hope you have the same type of acceptance, there is nothing like it.

Good luck! Can't wait to hear back about your day kilted!

Good luck! At my last job my boss wouldn't let me wear a kilt because he thought they were comparable to shorts!

Have you worn your kilt to work before or is it the first time? Either way I'm sure it's alot more comfortable in the heat than shorts or pants would be.

It sounds like it will be a good day for it.
Not that there is ever a bad one!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Good call. Pants are way too hot for summer.

I would kilt up for work if I wasn't afraid of the kilt getting damaged when I do have to go out into the shop.

Being in radio means I can wear my pajamas to work if I feel like it. What I'm jealous about is the heat you're having! I'd be happy to get to 60 degrees!

I have actually worn my kilts to work before, but it was never quite this hot when I've done it. When my company changed their dress code last year, it was actually the spark that lit the fire, but I haven't worn my kilts too often at work, just a couple times, really. But it was because of the new dress code that I actually started wearing kilts, in true rebel form.
The reactions I've gotten are that plenty of the women really like it. Men don't say anything, but a couple have joked around with me about it. Management has, of course, been tight-lipped. I've overheard my two supervisors talking about how they can't say anything because it is within dress code (the reasoning is that our dress code is non-gender specific, and skirts are allowed.)
I'm hoping to make more of a habit out of it, at least during the hot summer months. Today was actually so hot, that they sent out an email saying that we can wear shorts tomorrow because it's supposed to be just as hot. I try to make a point with my kilt to the other guys that I get to wear it regardless of when management decides it's hot enough, but they're all pretty much too afraid to be different.
